Prevent, Recognise, and Overcome Trauma
This module offers participants an overview of the symptoms and signs of various types of trauma. We explore evidence-based treatment modalities that bring resolution. This is an interactive, practical, and engaging module which offers real examples of effects, prevention, and treatment of trauma with a focus on specific type of trauma prevalent in NGO and IGO staff.
Understanding and Regulating Stress
This practical and interactive module explores the causes and consequences of stress. Participants examine coping skills and gain an overview of the latest research by somatic psychologists into approaches and techniques to prevent and treat stress. Participants will learn some of the ways in which they can regulate their own stress levels, increase their self-care, and reduce the effect of stress on their body, mind and emotions.
The Signs and Treatment of Burn Out
In this module provide participants with an overview of burnout and how to recognise it. We examine prevention and mitigation strategies and explore a range of coping skills. Participants are given practical tools which focus on how to increase self-care, and reduce the effects and symptoms of burnout on body, mind, and emotions.
Body Awakening and Meditation
This module explores the connection between emotions, body, mind, and breath. The connection is awakened through simple and gentle movements, synchronised with the breath. Participants are then guided through accessible meditations and relaxations which can be integrated into daily life. The body movement offered is gentle and suitable for everyone. No special clothes or equipment are required.
Deep Relaxation
This module allows participants to fully rest in a state of deep guided relaxation. Accessible to everyone, participants are guided through a deep body and mind relaxation. The benefits of this technique, based upon yoga nidra, include reduced stress and anxiety, increased relaxation response, improved function of the nervous and endocrine system, improved sleep, and a greater sense of calm and wellbeing.
Resilience, Regulation and Rest
In this module we explore how to increase protector factors and self regulation as a tool to prevent and mitigate the long-term consequences of stress. We explore practices, tools, and techniques proven in somatic psychology studies to protect the individual from chronic stress and burnout.
